A short documentary on India's first Transgender clinic

 

Shrikkanth's film, 'Mitr Clinic-Pride and Beyond' is a 10 minute short documentary on India's first transgender clinic, where the entire staff including the doctors to the clinic manager are from the community. The film aims to advocate a collective movement on emerging issues around the transgender population.

The documentary screening followed by the panel discussion with Shrikkanth and a few cast members aspires to provide wider dissemination of this message to a larger audience, adding to the Indian outcry about the health supply and demand issues of the transgender communities in India. It has been produced by Project ACCELERATE, an HIV program in India supported by USAID and PEPFAR, implemented by Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
