We are thrilled to invite you to participate in the upcoming FCA National Forum 2024-25 on ‘Built Environment, Design, and Gender,’ a ground-breaking event dedicated to exploring and critically reflecting on the intricate dynamics of design paradigms, practical methodologies, tools for the design process, and feminist practices in crafts and technology.
 
We have structured the Forum in four themes:
·   Theme 01 - Designing for Social Impact
·   Theme 02 - Practical Tools for Gender-Inclusive Design
·   Theme 03 - Gender Representation in Visual Communication
·   Theme 04 - Gender in Indian Design Practice: Pioneers and Contemporaries
 
Who Should Participate: We are excited that this year we have expanded our horizons to include a wide range of design disciplines like filmmaking & animation, arts & crafts, critical art practice, graphic design, and product design, among others. We invite all designers, film makers, architects, academics, students, artists, and anyone interested in the intersection of design, gender and the built environment. Your participation will help shape a collective vision that embraces and celebrates the richness of gender diversity in design.
 
How to Participate: To participate in the Forum as a presenter you can submit a 200-word Abstract on your work, research, literature, artworks, installations, ad films, movies, etc that resonate to the above mentioned themes. Please note that participation is not limited to the Forum themes; you can submit any work that fits the larger discourse of design and gender.
 
If you wish to present your art works or movies, you are encouraged to submit additional materials such as images of your work (not more than 5), YouTube links (for trailers or ad films), or other supporting material in addition to the abstract to facilitate evaluation and selection process. Any video files or other heavy digital files should only be shared as links. Please note again that the Forum is not limited to the mentioned forms of submission; we are open to presentation of any other material that deals with Design and Gender.

If selected, you will be asked to prepare a 12-minute presentation/ talk for the Forum.
